Chimney cake (in Hungarian "Kürtőskalács") is a traditional wedding pastry made by Hungarians in Transylvania for hundreds of years.

                To this day, in the small villages of Hargita county, families prepare this delicious pastry for every special occasion (weddings, christenings) the way they learned it for generations. Grandmothers wake up at the crack of dawn to knead the fresh yeast dough and fire up the brick oven at the back of the house. By the time the wood is smoldering, the dough is ready to be wrapped around a wooden cylinder, rolled into sugar and slowly baked at the fire.

                 Today, we brought this unique, interesting and delicious pastry into our everyday life to New York City. Our bakery is the first of its kind in the city dedicated solely to chimney cake. Our chimney cakes are handmade and baked daily with fresh ingredients in our shop on Long Island City, NY.  
We offer a great variety of flavors, sweet and savory, along with fresh coffee, espresso drinks, organic teas, homemade lemonades and iced tea (menu).
